Qualup Bells

I have captured these stunning Qualup bells in a linocut and ink artwork. This linocut plate is A3 in size and took around thirty hours to cut!

Found only in the sandplains and hillsides in the south of Western Australia, the Qualup bells are restricted to only a very small area east of Albany. This species has been widely exploited for cut flowers by bush picking. However, with restrictions now in place to eliminate bush picking, a considerable amount of research has been undertaken into cultivation requirements for the species.

I was able to purchase one for my own native garden, and have a brief time each year when it flowers to capture the images I have used in this linocut artwork.
