Banksia Montana

The Banksia Montana is a critically endangered Australian plant residing high in the Stirling ranges in South West western Australia. In a secret location known only to scientists, it struggles every year to overcome the devastation of bushfires and  disease. I have captured it here in its lofty setting, overlooking the distant ranges covered in cloud. This is from a magnificent photo by Environmental Scientist Sarah Barrett.

This is an original drypoint etching with a little ink to show the yellow new growth tips and flowers.
