2024 New Artworks

In 2023 I have focused on artworks that cover issues faced by us all in Australia and beyond. Looking at our flora and fauna, our oceans and our water, these artworks feature linocut and monoprints, mixed media works, and coloured pencil work. Endangered species are also highlighted through a current project featuring the Ringtail possum, the Numbat and Baudin’s Cockatoo.

2022 Australian Stories

In 2022 I have focused on artworks that tell stories from around Australia. These artworks feature linocut prints, mixed media works, and coloured pencil work. Australian Flora and Fauna feature in most artworks in some form, from delicate detailed drawings to bold linocuts.

2021 New Creations

In this portfolio you will see all my 2021 works of art as they are completed. I will work this year again with the theme of endangered animals, bushfire and our environment. I plan to add more handmade books, more lino cuts and etchings, and more drawings as the year unfolds. See my 2020 Portfolio for some themes and examples too, and please Contact me if you would like a work of art created especially for you.

2020 Art Gallery

In this Gallery you will find all the latest artworks for sale that I have been creating in 2020. As I like to work across a number of artistic mediums, I have grouped them together. My creative focus for this year is guided by the Australian bushfires and the affect they have had on endangered Australian flora and fauna. In particular I have focused on the South West region of Western Australia.

Linocut Prints

The linocut art that I produce often has a nature theme based on my Australian wildlife drawings, Australian landscape drawings, and native flowers drawings and photos. I have collaborated with a number of West Australian photographers to reinterpret their work as a linocut art print. Every year a new collection is built, so keep in touch with my original art portfolios.

Mixed Media

My mixed media artworks are generally comprised of linocut prints, collagraph prints, drawing, ink, gauche, monoprints… and stitching. I also utilise multiple forms to create unique backgrounds and papers with botanical and minerals dying. Botanical dying entails using natural material such as leaves and exposing them to a variety of treatments so they leave their original images on paper. Minerals dying uses iron water, copper sulphate, tea, and others to create the truly unique approach that you will see in my Linocut Prints

Handmade Cards, Gifts & Books

There are so many ways to make unique original artwork available to everyone. To own a piece of original art work is always such a joy, but sometimes the budget needs to accommodate more than this. I produce many of my pieces as original linocut prints. The print making process means that multiples can be made by me while still retaining their individuality. The ability to make multiples also means that they are affordable – a gift for yourself or a loved one.

Drawings

My Australian wildlife drawings, Australian landscape drawings, and native flowers drawings are available in a variety of sizes when reproduced as giclee art prints. I do not produce these as limited edition prints, making them affordable for everyone. A number of the pieces of original art prints have also been produced on handmade greeting cards which are also available for sale.

Collagraph Prints

Another printmaking medium I like to work in is Collagraph. Collagraphy is a really versatile printmaking process in which a textured plate is created by using collage to build the image. It is inked up (often taking hours!) then put through a press. The collagraph plate is first varnished to ensure the ink does not penetrate the collage and can be printed intaglio or relief. In producing collagraph art prints there is always an element of surprise as every print is different.

Art Commissions

For a truely personalised gift nothing beats an original artwork. I can produce for you a wide range of commissioned art pieces ranging from original linocut prints, drawings, handmade books and more.

Welcome

Welcome to my website where you will find the latest creations, works for sale, and arty activities of interest. I also conduct Art Classes from my studio in Albany and will start a new program in February 2024. If you would like more information on these then please Contact me.

I am in my art studio every day producing artworks. I focus on printmaking, drawing and mixed media art. My printmaking includes Linocut, Etching, Collagraph, Mono printing and eco printing. I love to experiment with multiple techniques of printmaking, often overlaying colour with inks, gauche, and roller. Chine colle, a technique of adding colour through the use of tissue paper also adds another dimensions to the art pieces.

I mainly produce artworks for framing, but also love the creative world of artist’s books. These are entirely handmade from my prints and use hand stitching and other techniques to create the books. I also produce some of these books in digital print, so that the beauty and the story can reach many more people.

The busy arts practice today sees influences coming from multiple sources… the environment, with its beauty and concerns … our human relationships. Family, friends and global humanity; the fleeting moments we experience in our daily life and travels. All these certainly influence the art works I create.

I am fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the world, an Albany artist in Western Australia. My studio looks directly over Princess Royal Harbour where I witness the changing environment daily.

Pelicans and water birds fly over-head, bandicoots and lizards reside in my garden, and native birds and flora surround my home. I wonder every day at nature’s bounty. So, naturally, you will find these things appearing in my artwork!

Please take your time to browse the Portfolio as I add new works all the time. I have indicated prices for the artworks, with prints being generally unframed. Other works such as some of the mixed media artworks are framed.

If you are interested in purchasing works please contact me. Postage costs are done on an individual basis.
